Defending NCAA Champ OSU Ranked Second In Preseason Poll

The defending national champion Oklahoma State men's cross country team has been picked second in the first U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll of the season.

Despite receiving the most first place votes in the poll, the Cowboys trailed No. 1 Stanford by ten points. Stanford received four first-place votes.

Other Big 12 teams in the poll include Colorado at sixth, Oklahoma 12th, Iowa State 18th and Texas 28th.

The Cowboys are number one in the Midwest Region rankings, while OU is second and Iowa State is third. Tulsa is sixth in the Midwest Region.

Oklahoma State won its second NCAA men's cross country national championship last year in Terre Haute, Indiana. It was the team's first title since 1954.
