2 New Life Flight Helicopters

Posted: Updated:

"We're looking at a brand new Euro-Copter EC130 helicopter," said a Life Flight official.

"We've got two. We've got one that's based out of the Pryor airport and one that's based over in Drumright," he said.

"It's a sweet ride," said the pilot.

"Here we carry two units of blood packed in ice, we're one of the few and lucky in the U.S. that get to carry blood product," said a crew member.

"See this antenna that's out our right hand side has come into the view of my synthetic vision and then right away it goes to yellow because I'm pretty close to it, as I get closer it'll turn red, warning me, that's all computer generated," demonstrated the pilot.

"My nephew that flies F-16's in the air guard over here and he would be jealous of the avionics package that I have in this helicopter, except for the fact that I don't have any guns or bombs," said the pilot.

"We carry all of the latest and greatest equipment not only for the aviation side, but for the medical side, to provide optimum care for the patients that end up in our helicopter," said the Life Flight official.
