TU's Graham Expected To Take Job At Pittsburgh

NewsChannel 8 has learned University of Tulsa head coach Todd Graham is expected to take the head coaching vacancy at Pittsburgh and a team meeting is scheduled for this afternoon.

The news came just hours after Tulsa also lost its offensive coordinator, Chad Morris, to Clemson.

Last week Graham, whose Golden Hurricane finished the 2010 campaign with seven straight wins, including a 62-35 rout of Hawaii in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl last month, dismissed rumors saying he was leaving, saying he was kind of tied down to Tulsa right now.

"I've got three kids who attend the University of Tulsa. I've pretty-much bought in and sold out," he said. "You know, my wife informed me that if I go anywhere I'll be going by myself. So, that's a little hard for me right now being 46. I don't really want to do that."

In four seasons, Graham's squads have gone 36-17 and have won all three bowl games they've appeared in by a combined score of 170-55. This season, Tulsa finished 10-3 -- Graham's third 10-plus win season at the school.

A team meeting is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. this afternoon.

NewsChannel 8 Sports Director Chris Lincoln will have more on this story in our newscasts at 4, 5, 6 and 10.
