ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Elvis Andrus had a career-high five hits, Mitch Moreland homered and Texas roughed up Anibal Sanchez in the Rangers' 7-2 victory over the visiting Detroit Tigers Saturday night. Andrus scored three runs, had two RBIs and stole a pair of bases as he hit leadoff for the second straight game.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma got a three-run double from Lauren Chamberlain and stayed in control to beat Arkansas, 10-5, in an NCAA Regional softball game yesterday in Norman. The Sooners led 6-1 after five innings but their lead narrowed to 6-5 after the Razorbacks put together a four-run sixth. Arkansas faces Oklahoma in the four-team regional final today.

IRVING, Texas (AP) - Peggy Nelson says her late husband's face would "light up" whenever he got a call from or thought about Ken Venturi. He died Friday, in the middle of tournament week for the Byron Nelson Championship in Irving, Texas. Venturi overcame dehydration to win the 1964 U.S. Open and spent 35 years in the booth for CBS Sports. He died at age 82, 11 days after being inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.

CONCORD, North Carolina (AP) - Jimmie Johnson became the first 4-time winner of NASCAR's annual All-Star race, taking out yesterday's event to break a tie with the late Dale Earnhardt and teammate Jeff Gordon. It was fitting that he did it at North Carolina's Charlotte Motor Speedway. That's a track where Johnson has dominated since his 2002 rookie season.
