5 Chances for Rain!

You can tell it's spring when we have chances for rain on 5 out of the next 8 days. However except for two day, most chances are slight. We have a 30% to 20% chance for showers and storms Thursday through Sunday. Then the chance jumps to 50% on Monday which includes the chance for heavy rainfall. Besides that it will be warm and windy with streaming clouds and higher humidity. Yep, spring is here!

I am wondering whether I should hold off planting my tomato plants today in Glenpool....I wanted to get them in before the rain on Thursday....but is hail and/or damaging winds likely in the Tulsa area?

Gina
When it's possible to post crawlers with the latest weather service warnings, and mini-radar pictures in the bottom right corners of the tv screen, why is it necessary to pre-empt programming for hours at a time instead of just cutting in when say, a tornado is confirmed on the ground? I really do appreciate all your hard work, but after awhile it just sounds like droning and I'm afraid you all have finally lost a viewer. I tuned in to channel 8 to watch a particular show, but after waiting 2 hours to see a show and getting nothing but droning, what's the point?! Surely there's a better way, channel 8.

Terry,

Go to ktul.com and use keyword search "weathercall" or just click on Weather and the first link there is Frank's WeatherCall. There is also a banner on the home page and banners throughout the site that link to http://cfc.ktul.com/external.cfm?p=weathercall. You'll find everything you need to know about the program there.

Thanks Kevin KTUL Webmaster

Frank, I heard the long range forecast for this spring was warmer and drier than normal. It don't seem to be starting off that way. Do you think a warmer, drier forecast will hold up.

RD
Hey thanks for the new weather watch program. We just signed for it Saturday and Mr Frank called both of the phones that we had listed at the same time just before it hit our area. Thanks again.

Frank - I think that warning people of dangerous storms via telephone is a great idea! How do we sigh up??

It's not that I do not trust you.....Quite the contrary as you are the station I watch to keep my family safe but I do not understand why there are videos coming in from the Skiatook Lake Area where there is a definite, scary, lowering of the clouds but the National Weather Service has not issued a Tornado Warning. Please expain this to all of us. I am a resident of Broken Arrow and this particular storm is not affecting, directly, my area but I lived up North of here, I would be somewhat confused and a whole lot worried. I am a bit of a chicken and would've taken cover anyway but there has to be an explanation for all of this.

Yes, Spring is here (thank goodness!) After the major ice storm this winter, being without electricity for 11 days and water for the first 2 days of the storm), I truly realize how fortunate we are to have such modern conveniences. I have signed up for the Weather Call feature. I think this is a very innovative and progressive move for KTUL Channel 8 to deliver such a needful service. Hopefully, Frank, you will never call me, but if the need arises, I am reassured to be "in-the-know" now. Thanks to all the weather team - you guys do such a wonderful job on covering weather. There may be one small opportunity for improvement, as I notice you don't cover much of western Creek County in your advance warnings. I would ask if you could please maybe extend your severe weather coverage to cover eastern Payne County as much as you do when the storms get into the Sapulpa/Sand Springs area. We cannot get Oklahoma City stations here, so we rely solely on Tulsa stations to know what is coming in from the west. Thanks again for a job well done. I appreciate all you guys do---all night long sometimes! :)

Frank, I am wanting to sign up for the weather notifications in my town but it won't let me put a PO box. My physical address is a Hulbert address but I live in Peggs so I don't really want Hulbert's weather. Will it give me Peggs Weather or Hulbert's? I tried to put my Peggs PO box but it wouldn't let me. Thanks, Becky
