The warm September-like weather is about to end. Our coldest blast yet will move in on Wednesday. The cold air will stick around for the rest of the week and through the weekend. Highs will be in the 40s and lows will range from the 20s to the 30s. Upon its arrival we will have a chance for showers and a few thunderstorms. By Wednesday night and Thursday morning the rain will have moved out of the area, however snow will continue to be possible up in Kansas. Skies will clear on Thanksgiving but it will remain very cold. By this weekend a storm system to our south will provide what we call overrunning precipitation. In other words, moisture will be pulled up and over the cold air that will already be in place across Green Country. That will produce showers here, and once again snow will be possible north of us in Kansas. Have we seen the last of the 70s for this year? It’s very possible, but then again in Oklahoma anything can happen!
