Is this the winter of more ice than snow? It sure looks like it so far, but there's plenty of time.

In the very near future another very cold blast will invade Green Country the rest of the week. It's so cold that we will have lows in the teens and highs near to below freezing! Along with this extra shot of cold air will be a chance for sleet or freezing rain on Friday. The best chance for ice will be in southeastern Oklahoma. Generally south of I-40. But we can't rule out a light winter mix of sleet or freezing rain here in northeast Oklahoma.

The best time for ice accumulations will be Friday night. So it's not likely to affect local schools. Things will warm up a little bit over the weekend leading to a chance for showers and storms on Monday.
