New Year Starts On The Polar Express

Have you seen the Christmas movie Polar Express? It's one of my family's favorites. We have a weather version of the polar express headed our way for New Year's Day and the day after.

Get ready to start 2008 with your heaviest winter coats! Very cold air will sweep into the area on New Years Day on the heels of gusty north winds. Highs north of I-40 both Tuesday and Wednesday won't rise above the 30s with lows in the teens! Of course the north winds will produce wind chills well below freezing!

This time around, the cold air will move in without a chance for rain or snow. It's what we call a "dry front". Typical of Oklahoma, the weather will swing back around to warmer temperatures by the end of this week! Have a happy New Year and please stay safe!

I wish to say thank you for including Coffeyville in your forcast. We live north of Coffeyville and when you give out warnings and show the path they are taking we know when to take cover. The stations over at Pittsburg only give Labette county and east where you give Montgomery county. Again I wish to say thank you!!!
