WET BEGINNING TO SPRING BREAK

Spring break is here, but so is the chance for severe storms, heavy rain and dangerous flooding! A slow moving storm system, lots of warm and humid gulf moisture and a cold front followed by a chilly pocket of air will combine to bring us severe thunderstorms packing damaging winds, large hail, isolated tornadoes and cloud to ground lightning. The greatest threat for severe weather will be in southern Oklahoma, western Arkansas and north Texas. Increasing gulf moisture will help increase the chance for heavy rain. 1 to 7 inches of rain is possible from north to south respectively across Green Country. The soaking rain and saturated ground will result in rivers running high and flooding of small streams. There may even be cases of major river flooding. Keep your umbrella handy, don't drive through flooded areas and tune to News Channel 8 for the latest.

Hello Frank

I have a question, with all the good updates you give on the weather, and warnings of not driving thru high water, do those people like the woman driving around warning signs ever say why they drove into the high water? lLook like since she had her child in the car she would not want take a chance of not making it thru. I think you should put their reply on at end of showing them stranded in a dangerous situation,I think it is plain dumb to put your life and those with you in the car in danger. I find a lot safer ways to make the news. Thank you Frank for all the good weather updates and info, sorry some out there apparently dont believe you.

Is New Channel 8 going to be doing the wicked weather road show this year?

Sarah
I just wanted to let you know that I live in Owasso and we just had a downpour of nickle size hail, some of the hail was bigger than that. Strong winds are blowing, and it is now thundering and lightning. We are watching the news and nothing is being said. Hopefully that means it's not s bad as it sounds!

amanda
