KTUL-Channel 8's promotional efforts during the 70s and early 80s are still revered by many as "the best ever".
Here, you will find a collection of those spots, including "8's The Place", "The News Guys", plus various other spots promoting Channel 8's programming, people and a potpourri of memorabilia. All of them are good; perhaps some are better than others...(you be the judge).
FYI, there was little, if any, budget for these productions.The people in the spots were primarily from the Channel 8 staff, or from the more than eager volunteers from everywhere.
We made do with what was available, mainlu using our studios and many Tulsa-area locations. The talents of our crew and the latitude given to us by Tom Goodgame, VP & General Manager, with the enthusiastic support of Mr. James C. Leake, made our efforts possible.
We hope you enjoy this collection of micro-mini movies, when television was exceptionally fun. This indeed was our Camelot... this was "8's The Place!".
