Located south and west of Tulsa, Mounds hasn't experienced the growth spurt many Tulsa County cities have, but it's certainly positioned itself and it starts with a quality school system. Brett Smith is a senior at Mounds and is busy in and out of the classroom.
"I play all three sports."
(Keith) "What's your favorite?"
"Oh, football definitely."

And, Brett was named all-district lineman this year for the Golden Eagles. But, despite being involved in three sports, Brett is also doing well academically, with a 3-point-98 grade point average, in the top five percent of his class.
"Yeah, my parents really push me. Both my parents are teachers."
(Keith) "Is that nice having teachers as your parents because they push you a bit harder?"
"Yeah, they really get after me."
As a senior, Brett is taking three Advanced Placement classes.
"I want to be prepared for college and get an extra step."
