Billw001 gets the reward for the Most Ignorant Comment of The Day.

The "Slow Keep Right" signs are applicable to ALL CARS who are going slower than those behind them. NO MATTER WHAT SPEED THEY'RE AT. EVEN IF ITS 75.

If you are in the leftmost lane, and someone behind you is faster than you, then YOU are the one who needs to move. Not only is the the law in most states, but beyond just that, it's also the most logical thing to do, for the sake of traffic flow.

Drivers such as Bill are the Cholesterol of the freeways. They block arteries and traffic, all due to some insane power trip based in the numerical "posted limit".

There is NO REASON that Bill cannot just stay to the right of the road, except for his own fragile ego on the road wanting to stubbornly block anyone behind him who is faster.

The National Motorists Association says: "From a very practical perspective, speed limits do not represent the actual travel speeds on most highways. These limits are typically based on arbitrary political numbers that have no relationship to valid engineering based standards. As a result, a motorist doing "the speed limit" in the left lane may be in serious conflict with the prevailing traffic. This results in abrupt lane changes, erratic speed changes, and no small amount of hostility."

In every action in life, one must do what is the most logical. And on the road, there is no reason to be a slowpoke in the left lane, except for babylike stubbornness.

Lemons, I think you mean "It's irritating when people going below the "maximum posted" speed limit hold up both lanes", not

It's irritating when people going below the speed limit hold up both lanes

Big difference. People want the left lane to be their own personal raceway. Not going to happen............

Lemons
It's about time.

It's irritating when people going below the speed limit hold up both lanes.

That said, i have really re-evaluated how I drive and I drive much slower and less aggressive. I prefer to be in the right hand lane and leave the left lane for the road ragers.

No way do I want to be mixed up with the idiots. LOL

Get over yourselves! It's about time they made people follow this law. You're not getting a ticket for going too slow, you're getting a ticket for going slow in the fast lane. Go as slow as you want, just keep out of the fast lane. People going slow in the PASSING LANE is what backs up traffic and causes congestion and accidents. SHEESH!

Iagree
I totally agree with vwmangster! I couldn't have said it any better! Go fight real crime. If I could choose where I could allocate my tax money, OHP would be off the list.

vwmanxster
I think this old law is just another excuse for the OHP (GASTOPO) to try and get money out of people, I mean you go too fast, they got you, now if you go too slow they got you. I think these guys are nothing but bullies and a bunch of over paid freaks who think they are just a gift to women and they demoralize the badge. Look into the disciplanary records or some of thier Trooper night outs. I have seen these F***ers at the strip club. They should have better things to do, like fight crime and actually solve some cases instead of worrying about John Q Public driving 64 in a 65. ~~~holes.

Koon, the sign saying slower traffic stay right means cars going less than the maxium posted speed. Maxium speed in the left lane, not over it.....
