ORU Settles Lawsuit With Former Professor

Oral Roberts University is settling one of the lawsuits it faces. It's a big step in the school's recovery.
The university has come to terms with Professor John Swails. He is one of three professors who claimed wrongful termination.
We spoke with Swails by phone tonight. He says he is relieved, but couldn't say more because the terms of the settlement are confidential.
Swails' attorney Gary Richardson tells NewsChannel 8 Swails is being reinstated as a professor at ORU.
The two other professors -- Dr. Tim Brooker and Dr. Paulita Brooker -- will continue their cases at a court hearing Friday.
The lawsuits also claim former ORU President Richard Roberts misspent university funds.
