Norman - It's official. Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford is coming back for his junior season with the Sooners.
Bradford made the announcement at a press conference this afternoon in Norman.
"After looking at all the information and obviously weighing the pros and cons, I have decided to come back to the University of Oklahoma for my junior season."
Bradford says he didn't put much thought into going pro before last week's national championship game and that he had a lot of information to go through over the past week.
He says he always dreamed as a kid to be the quarterback of the Sooners and that there is "no need to cut this experience short".
Bradford, who won the Heisman Trophy in December, says did go back and forth in making up his mind, but he wants to come back for another opportunity at a national championship.
Bradford also let slip that tight end Jermaine Gresham is returning for his senior season.
"I don't know if you guys knew that or not... Sorry coach..."
Experts had Bradford going anywhere from the top pick to somewhere in the middle of the first round after he broke single-season school records this year for touchdown passes (50), yards (4,720) and pass efficiency (186.28) and led the Sooners to the national championship game and a 12-and-2 record.
He also picked up the nation's most prestigious college football award, the Heisman Trophy, along the way.
Already, defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and offensive tackle Trent Williams have said they will return for their senior seasons.
