You will soon see more changes coming to midtown Tulsa. It's to make way for the further expansion of Interstate 44. You may remember the state moved 45-houses last fall from Yorktown to Riverside. The next big project is double that size, it will affect 85-properties. Crews are knocking bricks off of homes lightening the load before physically moving them. It is to date the largest move and demolition for I-44 yet.
From Yale to Riverside plans call for a six lane interstate. With longer on-ramps.

As a driver Russell Crow is looking forward to the results. And as a homeowner he gets a front-row seat to the process.
"I'm just noticing them taking it down piece by piece."
Three houses on his street are making way for the expansion.
Paul green with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation says the plans for I-44 are nothing new.
"We've been discussing it for 15-20 years now we're very excited we finally have the money to do the work."
Work watched closely by businesses along the interstate. Bodean restaurant and seafood market took it all across the street last fall. Ahead of still another phase this summer.
"I think they have another 30-60 days before they have to be out of there - so we could not do that in that short a time period so we got special permission from the state to go ahead and move." said Gene Pounds with Bodean Seafood Restaurant
look for some homes to start moving at the end of the week. If you're worried about traffic problems, it will be a while. Most of the major construction won't start until 2010.
