TRUST Begins Campaign To Help OK Bridges
According to TRUST, each year $450 million of our road taxes are diverted from Oklahoma's roads and bridges.
Now TRUST, which stands for Transportation Revenues Used Strictly for Transportation, has helped raise $300 thousand for a marketing blitz before state legislators decide how to slice up the budget.
Tulsa chamber president Mike Neal is tired of having to navigate new business prospects around bridge out signs and he's unabashed about just how bad Oklahoma looks.
"I moved here a year and a half ago from Tennessee and the difference in the roads is embarrassing, horrible," Neal says.
Next month the Governor meets with leaders in the state House and Senate to decide how to divide your tax dollars.
TRUST is hoping to make an impression. They want as many as possible to call Governor Henry and you legislator today and tell them to fix our roads and bridges.
