Ben Uzoh scored 22 points and Jerome Jordan added 18 points and 15 rebounds as Tulsa edged Houston 73-69 to reach the championship round of the College Basketball Invitational.
Tulsa (23-13) will play Bradley in a best-of-three championship round beginning Monday in Tulsa. The two teams have not met since TU was a member of the Missouri Valley Conference in the 1990s.
Uzoh drove the lane and laid the ball in over two Houston players with 1:13 left to give the Golden Hurricane a 72-to-66 advantage last night.
Robert McKiver hit the last of his six 3-pointers with 1:03 left to cut the deficit in half at 72-69. He was able to get off another 3-point play, but this time it hit the rim and didn't go in.
Jordan rebounded and was fouled. He hit one of two free throws with 4.7 seconds left to seal the win.
McKiver finished with 30 points and Kelvin Lewis added 11 points for Houston (24-10).
