The human remains discovered in rural Rogers County have been positively identified as those of a man who was reported missing in January 2007.
The bones were found Wednesday evening near Fisherman's Landing, which is located near Foyil, about 30 miles northeast of Tulsa. Rogers County authorities tell NewsChannel 8 the state medical examiner's office today identified the remains as those of 29-year-old Blake Allen Sutherland.
Sutherland was last seen in the Blue Creek area near Chelsea on January 12, 2007. The Rogers County Sheriff's Department says their probe led investigators to believe a homicide had occurred.
The ongoing investigation is being handled by the Rogers County Sheriff's Department, which is interviewing potential witnesses and suspects in the case.
