Weatherford - A pilot and his passenger have been treated and released from a hospital in Weatherford after an emergency landing Friday morning.
It happened just southeast of Thomas in Custer County. Officials say 52-year-old pilot Brad Perkins of Thomas had just taken off from a private landing strip when he reported his aircraft losing engine RPMs.
Perkins was forced to make an emergency landing in a wheat field. As the plane was landing, the front gear caught in the ground and caused the plane to overturn.
The plane was a Champion Aeronca 7FC-278.
Perkins and a passenger, 72-year-old Eddie Perkins were taken to Weatherford Memorial Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
