Now, even President Barack Obama
(web | news | bio) is disparaging the Sooners' chances of making much of a splash in the NCAA tournament. Obama says OU's problem is that while they have "the player of the year" in sophomore forward Blake Griffin, the Sooners don't use enough players in their rotation, causing the players to become worn down. OU coach Jeff Capel smiled slightly when he heard of Obama's comments. Capel says he's heard similar criticisms all season and that he'll let Obama stick to running the country while Capel coaches the Sooners as best he can. No one is expecting the No. 2 seed Sooners, who are 27-5, to have difficulty in the first round tomorrow with a 15th-seeded Morgan State team that is 23-11. But OU is rarely being mentioned as a strong Final Four candidate. The Sooners have lost four of their last six, including a 71-70 setback to Oklahoma State last week in the opening round of the Big 12 Conference tourney.
