Oklahoma City - A resolution honoring a firefighter who died while battling grass fires in Creek County last month will be presented at the State Capitol next week.
John Adams served for five years as a volunteer firefighter for the Silver City Fire Department. He died February 20th after suffering a heart attack while helping fight several grass fires near Mannford.
Family and friends told NewsChannel 8 Adams died doing what he loved. They say he was meant to be a firefighter. He lived for it and it was part of his selflessness to want to protect others.
On March 25th, a resolution honoring Adams and Oklahoma volunteer firefighters will be presented in the state House and Senate by State Senator Brian Bingman and State Representative Skye McNiel.
Authorities believe the fires Adams and his fellow firefighters were battling were intentionally set and the person responsible is still on the loose.
