Former Sheriff Sentenced To 79 Years In Prison

Burgess was convicted in January on 13 counts, including forcible oral sodomy, kidnapping, sexual battery and rape.
Burgess was accused of abusing his power to have sex with female inmates and women in drug court. Burgess claimed the sex was consensual and that the women were lying.
The jury recommended 94 years in prison.
