A federal grand jury in Tulsa has indicted three people on fraud charges connected to the Hurricane Katrina disaster relief fund.
James Hayes Senior and Sybil Hayes was indicted in one case and Terry Ruffin was indicted in a separate case.
James Hayes is accused of collecting nearly $6,400 for damage to a home in New Orleans but prosecutors say he didn't own the home and was living in Broken Arrow.
Sybil Hayes is charged with collecting nearly $28,000 on damage to her childhood home in New Orleans but investigators say she hasn't had a legal interest in the home since the 1990s.
And Ruffin allegedly received $2,000 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and $1,265 from the American Red Cross for damage to a home he didn't own.
Prosecutors say nearly 850 people nationwide have been charged with hurricane-related fraud. The Bush administration has said it is trying to recover nearly 500 million dollars from people who improperly received federal disaster aid.
