Americans are expected to spend at least $2 Billion on flowers for mom, but will the high prices of gas and other goods, mean people hold back?
"We're busier than I thought we were gonna be," says Sue Prater of Westside Florists, who admits she'sworried about it. Calls have been slow and shes had to raise her delievery prices to $8.
Prater made some arrangements to make the luxury cost effective by cutting out the most expensive flowers and supplying more of the basics.
"We don't have a bunch of orchids, not a bunch of stargazer lilies. We have them have access to them, but we didn't get a ton of them this year."
Some are considering other options.
"What I'm gonna do is just paint her a picture I'm an artist, I'll just paint her a picture it's cheaper that way. It's the thought that counts," says Brian Sharp.
"My advice is go ahead and do it because you only have your mother one time," Prater says.
