Gov. Brad Henry (web|news) is asking for an investigation into why a Tulsa man's body remained at a hospital for nearly a week after he died.
Henry sent a letter to the Oklahoma Funeral Board asking for an investigation into a Tulsa family's complaint that Leo Dwight Henderson remained at St. John Medical Center for six days after his death.
Family members say the believe Henderson's body wasn't picked up sooner because of his race.
City records show Moore's Eastlawn Funeral Home Chapel was on rotation to pick up the body, but funeral director John Wilson says he was unaware that Henderson had died.
Wilson denies that Henderson's race was a factor.
