A NewsChannel 8 viewer says he got closer to a tornado than he would have liked. But, he did end up with some incredible video.
Donald Barnes lives in McAlester. He took out his video camera as the storm began on Saturday afternoon.
"This video was a stupid move on my part," Barnes said. "We had no warning except the sound of a jet airplane landing on us. I do not suggest anyone but trained storm chasers do this."
We stress that you should NEVER attempt to shoot video or take photos of a tornado that is in your immediate vicinity. Tornadoes can and do change direction without warning, so take your tornado precautions.
While there was a lot of damage done by the tornado, luckily there were no injuries reported from the storm in southeastern Oklahoma.
