Some of the most compelling video from Saturday's tornadoes didn't come from veteran storm chasers.

Matthew Daniels shot the video you see here on his cell phone camera. He lives in Picher and says he and his family had just visited the store and were on their way home when the storm hit.

"I'm looking back at it because it was going toward (Highway) 69," he says. "We started out by the Gorilla Cage and it kept following us."

Daniels says he was finally able to get ahead of the twister and get himself, his wife and two children to safety before the twister hit the town of Picher.

While Matthew got this incredible footage, he was very lucky. We can't stress enough that you should never go outside when there is a tornado warning in effect.

When a tornado warning is issued, you should always take your tornado precautions immediately.
