The Sperry Pirates got all the runs they'd need in the first inning en route to a 15-to-2 win over Beggs in the Class 3A state championship baseball game Monday in Shawnee.
The Pirates scored six times in the top of the first and ended the game with 20 hits -- four coming from Byron Teel, who also drove in three runs.
On the mound, Bobby Bundy tossed a complete game, allowing just two runs while striking out eight.
Beggs' lone runs of the game came in the fifth inning on a single by Nick Grimmett.
The title is Sperry's sixth and second in three seasons.
