Prosecutors have charged a Tulsa man with first-degree murder in the March shooting death of a Catoosa man.
Prosecutors allege 40-year-old Stephen Eaton shot Melvin Dennis in the stomach on March 29 at Dennis' Catoosa home. Dennis was taken to a Tulsa hospital, where he died about three weeks later.
Police say Eaton was shot three times, and Dennis was shot four times during an exchange of gunfire, allegedly prompted by a feud between their children.
Eaton claims he fired in self-defense after he was attacked by several juveniles and Dennis started shooting at him through the passenger-side window.
