Northeastern Oklahoma A&M is holding a talent and service auction this week to benefit victims of tornadoes in Ottawa County earlier this month.
The auction will include a wide variety of talents and services including lawn care, massages, golf lessons, fly fishing lessons, cake decorating, painting, home decoration consulting, personal training, tutoring, manicures, pedicures, personal computer tune-ups and more.
"When a crisis like the tornado happens, you realize that the people you work with have become more in your life than just co-workers," says Christen Stark, director of public relations and marketing for NEO. "They become your friends. They become your family. And, when something terrible happens in their life, you want to reach out to them."
The auction runs Monday, May 19th through Thursday, May 22nd in the college library. All proceeds will benefit those whose lives were devastated by the May 10th tornado.
The community is invited to bid on items in person, by e-mailing silentauction@neo.edu or by calling (918)-540-6381. A complete list of the items up for bid can be found at www.neo.edu/silentauction/.
