Construction projects on major highways could have a major impact on your Memorial Day travel.
In the Tulsa metro area, Highway 169 will be narrowed on Saturday and Sunday with the left southbound lane between 36th Street North and 56th Street North closed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for cable barrier installation.
In the Oklahoma City metro area, U.S. Highway 81 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions near El Reno for bridge and surface work.
On the Turner Turnpike, shoulder work between Oklahoma City and Wellston can be expected.
On the Will Rogers Turnpike, traffic will be down to one lane in each direction for about ten miles near Big Cabin for pavement rehabilitation. Further north, traffic will be down to one lane on the turnpike near Miami for pavement rehab as well.
On the Cimarron Turnpike, traffic along the Stillwater Spur will be down to one lane in each direction for pavement rehabilitation.
In Muskogee County, Interstate 40 east of Checotah will be narrowed to one lane east and westbound near State Highway 2. Northbound U.S. Highway 64 will also be narrowed to one lane near State Highway 165 south of Muskogee for bridge work.
Also in Muskogee County, drivers can also expect various lane closures along southbound U.S. Highway 69 south of Muskogee for a resurfacing project. And, further south on U.S. 69, the right southbound lane will be closed just south of McAlester for a widening project.
In Sequoyah County, expect intermittent lane closures for bridge repair on I-40 at two locations -- about two miles east of U.S. 59 near Sallisaw and 12 miles east of U.S. 59.
Interstate 35 will be narrowed to one lane north and southbound just north of U.S. 412 in Noble County for replacement of bridges over the Red Rock Creek overflow.
In Enid, various lane closures at the U.S. 412/U.S. 81 junction can be expected for intersection work. Also on U.S. 81, both north and southbound lanes will be narrowed south of Dover for surface repair.
