Gilcrease Museum teaching artist Allison Lackner had several activities for these waiting children to enjoy on our visit. Maria, Twanisha, Jelvis and Venus are extremely bright children. They are stair step in age. And, love each other very much.
Maria's the youngest at five. She really looks forward to celebrating holidays, especially Christmas.
Cause you always get to see Santa.
Twanisha is seven. She's friendly, outgoing and has her sights set on doing something to help animals.
"I want to be a veterinarian. I know what a veterinarian is."
"What?"
"It's a person that takes care of animals."
Jelvis, who's nine, has a beautiful smile and makes friends easily. He loves video games, is getting ready to play soccer and already knows what he wants to be in life.
"A hospital doctor."
"Really how come?"
"I don't know, I want to help people."
And, big sis, Venus, who will soon be 11, is very softspoken and responsible. She's attentive to the younger children and wants so much for them all to be happy.
"Well, when they're feeling down or something, I always help them get back up or like smile again or laugh."
These children attend church and are very caring kids. DHS hopes to find one home where they can finally be together once again.
