A federal judge has issued an order delaying enforcement of Oklahoma's anti-illegal immigration law, saying it is "substantially likely" it is unconstitutional.

U.S. District Judge Robin J. Cauthron issued a preliminary injunction on Wednesday prohibiting enforcement of provisions of the law.

Those provisions subjected employers to penalties for failing to comply with a federal employee verification system designed to prevent the hiring of illegal immigrants.

The decision came on a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Oklahoma Chamber and other business groups.

State Chamber official Mike Seney said the ruling was timely since the employer portions of the law were to take effect July 1.

i have been in the construction biz for 15 years and dont know any citizen that took a job at mickey dee's because of illegal workers.Dont give me that BULL!!!

cas001 - If I remember correctly, you are an employer in the construction industry.
Do you have any idea what your displaced, legal workers are doing to provide for their families?

Do you realize that whether the July portion of HB1804 that directly impacts employers is in effect or not - employing illegal workers is against federal law?

Since we obviously cannot trust our agencies and judges to utilize common sense or actually do the jobs they are funded to do, perhaps legal citizens who have been harmed by the lack of enforcement should seek class action remedies.

Our citizens know which employers are violating the law.
Many of them have been harmed by illegal and discriminating employment practices.
Many more have been harmed directly by the unregulated presence of illegals in our society.
We have all been harmed by the fact that millions of people here illegally abuse our tax funded services.

So ... do you know if your former, legal employees are stocking shelves somewhere or have left the state to find employment or are working 2 jobs now in other fields to support their families?
Do you even care?  I doubt it.
Please do not view this hold as permission to continue violating the law.
The majority of citizens in this nation are fed-up and will give up on this issue.
