Prosecutors say DNA evidence has led to murder charges in the killing of an elderly man 23 years ago.

Bobby Lee Bledsoe of Oklahoma City has been charged in Canadian County District Court with first-degree murder in the May 1985 death of Clarence Evans.

The 95-year-old Evans was stabbed to death in his home. Court documents say investigators found a DNA match between a blood sample taken at the scene of Evans' death and a DNA sample given by Bledsoe.

Bledsoe was convicted of second-degree burglary in Canadian County in 1998 and provided a DNA sample under a state law requiring those convicted of felonies to submit DNA samples.

The 46-year-old Bledsoe was arrested in Oklahoma City on Thursday and booked into the Canadian County jail without bail.
