Hydro Man Charged With Kidnapping

A man accused of holding seven people hostage at a veterinary clinic near Clinton has been charged in Custer County District Court with kidnapping and robbery.
Matthew Thomas Bell of Hydro is also charged with stealing a car, burglary and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Bell is accused of breaking into the clinic early Wednesday morning then demanding money from workers at gunpoint as they arrived for work.
Investigators say he then stole a vehicle from the clinic parking lot and later abandoned it in a where it caught fire. He was later arrested after being spotted by law officers in a helicopter.
