A suspected meth lab operating in a home less than a block from the McAlester police and fire department exploded and caught the house on fire. McAlester fire officials say the house caught fire early Thursday and two men were arrested. Police suspect the house was being used to manufacture methamphetamine, but no charges have been filed. Fire Chief Harold Stewart says the west end of the house wastotally involved when firefighters reached the scene. Stewart says authorities found glassware and could smell chemicals in the home.
