Burglary Suspect The Target of Manhunt Near Henryetta

A manhunt for a burglary suspect is ongoing in rural Okmulgee County.
It's happening northwest of Henryetta, where the suspect was witnessed burglarizing a home at about 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
The man fled south of the home into a wooded area.
Okmulgee County and Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials are conducting a search for the suspect using dogs, an airplane and a helicopter.
The suspect was described as dark-complected, wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.

It's encouraging to see some serious effort at catching a burglar someplace around here. The Tulsa metropolitan area is about 10th worst in the country for burglary. The difference between 6th and 10th worst is so small, it would be fair to say Tulsa is tied for 6th worst. It's generally acknowledged that a burglar alarm in Tulsa is essentially worthless because law enforcement does not consider burglary to be serious enough to warrant a vigorous response ... which probably explains why Tulsa has such a high rate of burglary ... six times the rate of NYC, by the way.
