The Broken Arrow Wal-Mart SuperCenter observes Child Safety Month in June, so they treated Ashlie to a shopping spree. We headed first to the CD's as Ashlie loves music. She plays guitar, piano and flute in the band at school.
"I love music because I feel that music can sometimes relate to myself. I can relate to it like some songs seem to be based on my life, and things that happened in my life, things like that."
And, Ashlie has also been involved in choir, ballet, gymnastics, cheer leading and karate. She just turned 17 and will be in the 12th grade. She has her sights set on college and a career.

"I plan on being a forensic file technician, so I'm going to do fingerprints, things like that."
This Waiting Child is outgoing, has a love for animals, especially horses, and is a teenager with a lot of potential. She hopes to find a home where she can be accepted for who she is and where trust and honesty are two main ingredients. She'd love to have a mom to really talk to.
"You know, strong and loving for her to be there whenever you need her and to help you with problems that you're having."
If you can help Ashlie find the home she's looking for, call DHS Child Welfare at 581-2309.
