Tulsa - A shaky economy isn't scaring away one local company whose business in Green Country continues to grow.
Reasor's opened a huge new grocery store in Jenks Wednesday. It's not only the largest and most state of the art, it comes with its own coffee shop and sushi bar inside.
You might think in this economy 'who needs all the fancy stuff?'. But, owner Jeff Reasor says now is the time and he's taking advantage of it.
"It's still a grocery store," Reasor says. "But we've just added a few bells and whistles -- chocolate, sushi bar you can sit down at."
You can sit and watch your sushi being made and eat it right there. Or, how about a hot cup of joe at the coffee shop and lounge? It's all new, and folks are eating it up -- literally.
But, in this economy?
"The economy has softened a little bit," Reasor says. "But we think what we're doing is putting the right items together, putting the right package together that people are still wanting."
He's not alone in his thinking. All over Green Country is new development -- a Super Target in Bixby, a PetSmart in Broken Arrow and new Target in Broken Arrow.
"Now is the time to be expanding. So that's what we're doing, we're taking advantage of those, and that's my next meeting it's on expansion."
Expanding during a time when most people are conserving. But, Jeff Reasor says that's the secret to Reasor's success.
That Target in Broken Arrow is still hiring. And, of course they're hiring at the new Reasor's. If you're interested, you can apply online at their website or simply ask a store manager for an application.
