Dog lovers in Tulsa will soon be able to let
their pooches roam free in a Tulsa park.
The city's Park and Recreation Board yesterday approved
converting an unused city-owned baseball field into an off-leash
dog park.
Task force Chairman Herb Beattie says he hopes to have the park
in operation by the end of next week. The estimated cost is about
$20,000. He says off-leash dog parks are the latest trend in public
parks across the country.

Oklahoma City officials say its off-leash dog park southeast of
Lake Hefner is tremendously popular. Similar parks have opened in
Norman and Edmond.
