An Oklahoma County judge has ordered a 17-year-old boy to stand trial on first-degree murder and assault charges connected to a March confrontation in south Oklahoma City.
Special District Judge Greg Ryan ruled Wednesday there was enough evidence for Juan Antonio Sierra to face trial for allegedly stabbing another teenager to death after an argument broke out between two groups at a taco stand.
Authorities say 18-year-old Saul Fernandez died after being stabbed in the groin.
Sierra's attorney had argued he should be charged with first-degree manslaughter.
Sierra remains jailed without bond. He is due back in court Aug. 20 for a pretrial hearing before District Judge Tammy Bass-LeSure.
