Two teenagers were killed after a van carrying eight people overturned on a Custer County highway, throwing four people from the wreckage.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 18-year-old Elk City residents Ella Mae Webster and Darrell Dixon died after the crash about 6 p.m. Thursday just west of Panther Creek on State Highway 73.
The patrol says 54-year-old Richard Long of Elk City was eastbound on the highway when the van ran off the road and overturned. Webster, Dixon and two other passengers were thrown from the van.
The OHP reports that 56-year-old James Dixon and 26-year-old Dawn Horton are in critical condition.
The patrol report indicates alcohol may have been a factor in the crash and that none of the van's occupants were wearing their seat belts.
