Tulsa led Oklahoma with 37 of the state's 161 National Merit Scholarship winners this year.
The final list of scholarship winners was released this week.
Oklahoma City had 26 winners, Edmond 21 and Norman 18.
The other winners came from nearly 30 other towns. The award amounts vary from $500 to $10,000 per year.
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation says more than 8,000 students nationwide will receive scholarships through the competition worth a cumulative $36 million.
Finalists for the awards are selected based on their scores on a qualifying test taken during their junior year of high school and other achievement factors.
