Former School Librarian Accused Of Sex With Teen Student

A former Harrah Junior High School librarian accused of having sex with a 15-year-old student is expected to surrender to authorities Monday.
Laura Kathleen Cantrell was charged Thursday in Oklahoma County District Court with second-degree rape and oral sodomy. The student was 15 at the time of the allegations in 2006.
Authorities began investigating the 40-year-old in January after she told a school resource officer to report a student was trying to extort money from her.
According to court papers, she said the boy threatened to tell police they had been sleeping together if she didn't give him $50.
A Harrah police detective wrote in an affidavit that Cantrell admitted to having sex with the boy four or five times last year.

Our Kids are supposed to be safe at school not preyed on! Whether he used extortion or not is not the point. SHE knew better. No wonder so many people are homeschooling their children!
