Oklahoma County Commissioner Brent
Rinehart, who is facing a campaign corruption trial in September,
has seen a major decline in contributions to his re-election
effort.
Rinehart reports raising $28,096 and says he still predicts a
victory even though the investigation of his 2004 campaign has
scared off many contributors.
Rinehart's fundraising lags far behind his collections at the
same point in the 2004 race. Overall, he reported raising $215,676
on his 2004 campaign.

He faces Republican opponents J.D. Johnston and Brian Maughan in
next week's primary election.
Johnston says he has loaned his campaign $180,000. He says he
has collected only a little from friends because he did not want
any question about the source of his money.
Maughan reports raising $58,784. He says most of the donations
are from friends but some came from Republican activists who oppose
Rinehart.
