Tulsa - The Red Cross has been called out to assist the residents of a Tulsa home that was destroyed by fire Thursday morning.
It happened at about 10:30 a.m. near 42nd Place North and Delaware. When fire crews arrived, the home was fully engulfed. The home is considered a total loss.
There were four people at home at the time of the fire. One of the residents says he turned on a light, heard a 'pop' and the fire began a short time later.
Fire investigators say the residents tried to extinguish the fire themselves for about ten minutes before calling the fire department.
One of the firefighters suffered first and second degree burns on his neck and was transported to Hillcrest Burn Center to be treated. No other injuries were reported.
