Tulsa - More than two dozen finalists for the Mayor's Entrepreneurial Spirit Award will be making their pitches today and tomorrow in hopes of landing seed money to become the next big thing.
Twenty five finalists will make their presentations at the offices of SpiritBank at 18th and Baltimore. They'll each have seven minutes to make their pitch, then there will be an eight-minute question and answer session with the judges panel.
Judges will then have six minutes to discuss the entry.
Twelve finalists will be chosen to proceed to the semifinal round to be held on September 17th.
More than 80 hopefuls submitted their business plans this year. Last year's winner, Gerald Buckley, picked up 30-thousand dollars, free office space and guidance for the launch of Grocio.com.
Buckley's idea? A website in which you tell them what groceries you're looking for and they compare grocery stores to find the best prices and even give you coupons.
