OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A Blanchard man accused of trying to rob an
Oklahoma City bank with his wife, who was shot to death by a
security guard, has been charged with first-degree murder in the
woman's death.
Fifty-six-year-old Samuel Booth Lewis also was charged Wednesday
with attempted robbery with a firearm and shooting with intent to
kill.
Prosecutors allege Lewis and Barbara Lewis attempted to rob a
MidFirst Bank on July 18. Police say Barbara Lewis was shot after
she entered the bank and pointed a gun at a security guard, who
shot her.
Police say Samuel Lewis was shot after exchanging gunfire with
the guard, who wasn't injured.
Court records do not show if Lewis has hired or been assigned an
attorney.
