A McAlester police officer has been suspended with pay after being arrested for driving under the influence.
Police say Sgt. Chris Morris was arrested Saturday night after leaving the Elks Lodge in McAlester.
Police Chief Jim Lyles says two McAlester officers stopped Morris after he ran two stop signs.
Morris is also president of the local chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police and is the current officer of the year.
