Tulsa - Laura Gilford is emcee with the Radio Disney group. And, we couldn't think of a better place for the kids to enjoy themselves than at the Radio Disney studio.
These children are all healthy and active and are a very close knit group. Edward is the oldest, he's in the 3rd grade this year.
"Do you like any of your classes at school?"
"Yes."
"Which one?"
"Gym."
"Why?"
"We get to play dodge ball and shark attack."
The DHS case worker for these children says they really want to be together in one home. They're stairstep in age from 1 to almost 9. And, their names are beautiful just like them. There's Diamond, Dejuana, Deja, Dorian Daryonna, Darious, Demetrious and Edward.
Demetrious is in the second grade this year.
"Do you like school?"
"Yes."
"What do you like about school?"
"That we get to learn more stuff."
"What do you like to learn about?"
"Animals."
"What kind of animals?"
"Horses."
DHS hopes to find a two parent family that will give these kids strong emotional support. And, of course, all the love they're looking for.
Call 581-2309 to find out more about these waiting children and the adoption program. DHS offers adoption subsidies if the children qualify.
